About the New Zealand Goods & Service Tax (GST)

Starting December 2019, New Zealand's consumption tax on imported goods will change.
Starting December 1st, 2019, goods imported to New Zealand will be subject to a 15% Goods & Service Tax (GST).

When should GST be paid?

tenso.com will charge 15% GST for the following

Total amount as stated on the invoice. GST of items expecting alcoholic beverages and cigarettes will be charged.
  • Int'l shipping Fee: 1,400 JPY
  • Handling Fee: 500 JPY
  • Consolidation Fee: 500 JPY
  • Special Packaging: 600 JPY
Payment to tenso during handling. gst15%

GST is charged before or after shipments depending on the total value on the package however, in case of shipments to New Zealand,GST will be charged on all shipments in advance.
New Zealand Tax Office accepts tenso.com to charge GST in advance on all shipments therefore, if you are asked to pay GST when you receive your package, please keep the invoice and contact us.

The GST only affects the import consumption tax. Import duties will not be changed.

The import duty will be charged by the shipping company upon delivery (if incurred).
