On February 5, 2020, Japan Post announced that international deliveries could be further delayed due to the suspension of flights to China.

According to the announcement from China Post,
due to the spread of the new coronavirus, there is a possibility that the delivery of packages to China in the regions below may be delayed.

Due to a sudden increase of international deliveries (specifically to China, Hong Kong and Macau) in response to the new corona virus emergency we have received an update from Japan Post that it will take more time than usual to send packages and acquire customs clearance at airports and International Exchange Offices for packages that have already been sent.
As a result, the delivery of postal items to foreign countries (especially EMS postal items) will be delayed.

Regarding packages being delivered by EMS / AIR / SAL / to China, the international mailing condition chart has been partially revised on July 16, 2019. The packages classified as an accident handling package will be handled locally by the China Customs.

The packages that have been treated as an accident handled packages are as follows:
・ Refusal of acceptance
・ Required customs documents are not attached
・ Storage period has exceeded
・ Prohibited items included and cannot be delivered or returned
Please note that it will not be subject to compensation for damage for packages that have been disposed locally.
